Innes Hickman – Team Owner and Driver
A Production Manager by day, Innes runs the team in his spare time and is also the team’s regular driver. He has a long history in motorsport having started sprinting and hill-climbing a Mini back in 1992. Innes is a qualified vehicle technician as well as being trained as a machinist and has had spells working at such companies as Ricardo Consulting Engineers and McLaren Automotive.
Alex Beukelman – No.1 Mechanic
All the way from Botswana, Alex joined the team in 2013 and very quickly learnt his way around a single seat racing car. He is an ace welder and machinist as well as being handy on the spanners. He has a Foundation Degree in Motorsports Engineering from Oxford Brookes University and in his spare time Alex is a keen motorcyclist and has owned a string of bikes in various states of rebuild. Alex became No.1 Mechanic in 2014 and leads the technical support side of the team.
Ollie James – Mechanic
Ollie is a versatile all-rounder and covers various roles in the team. He is especially adept at analysing data from the logger but can tackle anything on the car. Highly motivated, he is keen to get stuck in and a great asset to the team. He also works for top Caterham racing team, DPR Motorsport and spends most of his weekends racing. Oliie Joined Mintron Racing in early 2013.
Mark Ashman – Mechanic
Mark, who hails from Truro, has recently finished studying a Foundation Degree in Motorsports Engineering at Oxford Brookes. Mark is passionate about motorsport and joined Minitron Racing for the 2013 season. Mark has worked for Porsche Carrera Cup team, Parr Motorsport and currently works for BookaTrack.com. Mark is also founder of CTS Motorsport and is currently building a VW Golf to take racing. He thrives on racing and could be described as a true petrol head!
Ryan King – Mechanic
Ryan is the newest member of the team, having joined us for work experience in early 2014. He has since helped out on a number of occasions. In his spare time Ryan successfully races BMX bikes and when not racing is fixing and preparing his bike. He also enjoys working on cars and assists his friends on a number of project vehicles.
All of the above team members are voluntary and give their time up for the love of the sport.
